RCB finally achieves a win after a one-month-long wait and defeats SRH at their home ground.

Summary: Virat Kohli breaks into splendid laughter as RCB ends the month-long wait for the second IPL 2024 win by defeating SRH.

Virat Kohli's emotions following Royal Challengers Bangalore's triumph over Sunrisers Hyderabad perfectly captured the spirit of his squad on Thursday night. RCB won by 35 runs in Hyderabad, keeping them slightly alive in the playoff race.

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis was relieved after his team ended their one-month wait for a win with a dominant victory over SRH on Thursday, April 25. Before the game in Hyderabad, RCB's last and only win came at home on March 25 against PBKS in a thriller. Since then, they have been on a six-game losing streak, which ended at the Uppal.

Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar smashed fifty to help RCB score 206 runs in the first inning, leading to a 35-run victory. The SRH batting order collapsed in the chase, unable to find a pattern on the day when spinners Swapnil Singh and Karn Sharma seized the ball. Cameron Green also performed an all-round performance in Hyderabad, giving RCB their second win of the season.

Kohli burst into laughter and was beaming as he applauded the pacer after Yash Dayal bowled the last over of the run chase. With RCB's six-match losing streak coming to an end, his mood had finally brightened.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Du Plessis expressed relief, pointing out that RCB showed their fighting spirit in their previous two matches against KKR and SRH. The RCB skipper also stated that the team can only get confidence from its performances.

He also said, “For the last two games, we have shown a strong fighting spirit. The SRH game had 270+, and we got 260. The KKR game also had one run. We've been close for a while, but you need to win games to build confidence as a team. I will sleep better tonight. You cannot speak or act confidently in the group. The only thing that gives confidence is performance."
