Shaji Prabhakaran, Secretary General of AIFF Wants the Super Cup Tournaments to Get Better
Shaji Prabhakaran, the secretary-general of AIFF (All India Football Federation) said that the current Super Cup is the chance that the AIFF and relevant others take to relook at the competition. AIFF is the one that organized these tournaments. Prabhakaran on Tuesday, New Delhi opened about a few things. He said over the phone that they do not have to mandatorily emulate the competitors of the cup in Europe. However, they have to put their minds together in bringing a better version of the Super Cup.
A state passionate about soccer games said that it has already been four days in the main event with 16 teams from I-League and ISL (Indian Super League), and the games are being played at nearly empty stadiums at Manjeri in Kerala and Kozhikode. A club official revealed few details and requested anonymity. The official said holding it post the I-League and ISL has affected the interest in the game among the audience and led to some disinterest.
There is not much in for the competition apart from the AFC Cup half-shot, as per Stephen Constantine, the East Bengal coach. On the other hand, Gokulam Kerala FC is of the opinion that there is no television broadcast of the qualifiers and that is unfair to the participating nine I-League teams. The ones who are in charge of the broadcast are AIFF’s marketing partners. And they are also responsible for running the ISL.
The games of Churchill Brothers, Gokulam Kerala, Aizawl FC, and Sreenidi Deccan for I-League qualifiers begin at 5:00 PM. Thus, those observing Ramzan will not be able to attend the game as people usually break their fast at this time. The fact was pointed out by Gokulam Kerala FC fans. In an early kick-off, we will see Roundglass Punjab, the I-League Champions, and ISL teams.
