Manu Bhaker walked the ramp for Lakme Fashion Week 2024 but got trolled.
Summary: Manu Bhaker won us two bronze medals but was criticized for her ramp walk at the Lakme Fashion Week 2024.
Manu Bhaker, an Olympic double medallist, just made her runway debut at Lakme Fashion Week 2024. On social media, her self-assured stroll went viral. She got a lot of love on the internet, but she also got hate. There were 'quite some haters' who made negative remarks about the ramp walk. Soon after her achievements at the Paris Games, Manu Bhaker will return to training.
She walked effortlessly and drew attention in a black body-fitting dress with no sleeves. She also remembered her Olympic medals by striking her trademark shooting position. She also posted a video to Instagram as the incident went viral on social media.
However, a lot of people chose to troll her as usual. But many also defended her. One person said, “You deserve all of this and more. It's weird seeing people trolling her for getting the attention and limelight she's getting. She deserves all of it. Compare what cricketers in our country get for winning accolades for India and you would feel this is still barely anything as compared to that. Wish you all the success and hope you make the country proud even more.”
The 22-year-old had the perfect reply for her trolls. She commented on her own post, “Wow, thank you guys for some good words. Also quite some haters I see. I just wanted to say, Don't limit yourself to anything; make your life big, your career shiny, and your parents proud. Haters will hate, lovers will love, you do you. Have your morale high and make your own way, in your own style. There's no shortcut to things, but why do easy things when God gave you strength to do the difficult. Cheers.”
Manu Bhaker will start training again in November and go back to shooting competitively the following year. Ahead of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Final, which is set to begin in the nation's capital on Tuesday, Bhaker, who took home two medals from the just finished Olympics in Paris, was speaking to the media in Delhi.
