India vs. Australia 3rd Test: The match is stopped due to rain.

Summary: The first day of the third Test match between Australia and India was ruined by heavy rainfall.

Day 1 of the third Test match between Australia and India at the Gabba in Brisbane on Saturday saw less than 15 overs of play due to a heavy downpour. Australia called to bat and finished the rain-soaked day with a score of 28/0.

After a second bout of heavy rainfall on day one, play was briefly halted by a persistent drizzle in the sixth over. During the first session, openers Nathan McSweeney (4 batting) and Usman Khawaja (19 batting) did a good job of negotiating the new ball.

Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney settled in and even managed to knock a couple of boundaries, but India's pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, and later Akash Deep, were unable to create many opportunities in the brief time they were able to bowl.

In the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Gabba, Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first. Ravindra Jadeja and Akash Deep will perform for the first time on this tour. Jadeja is taking Ravichandran Ashwin's place, and Deep replaces Harshit Rana.
