India's successful defense of 219 in a high-scoring thriller saw Arshdeep surpass Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the elite list of Indian bowlers with statistics of 3 for 37. He took 92 wickets in 59 matches. 

Yuzvendra Chahal, India's all-time top wicket-taker in Twenty20 Internationals, is now the only player ahead of Arshdeep Singh. When the 25-year-old performed heroics with the ball at the SuperSport Park in Centurion, he also outperformed his favorite bowling partner, Jasprit Bumrah.

India could defend their score of 219 thanks to the wickets of Klaasen and Jansen, which completely changed the course of the match. After Klaasen (41 runs off 22 balls) hit four maximums and a boundary, Suryakumar Yadav brought Arshdeep back into the attack. 

Understanding the true nature of the surface and how the ball's pace was making it easier for the bowlers, Arshdeep bowled a slower ball and hit it wide off the off-stump. 

When Klaasen tried to go inside out, he stumbled and fell into the trap. Tilak Varma, who was on  the deep cover, ended up taking the ball; no mistakes there.

However, Marco Jansen, a set player, was Arshdeep's biggest wicket of the night. Before Arshdeep Singh trapped him in front of the stumps, the South African all-rounder caused terror on the Indian bowling attack with his brilliant batting.

India became the first team in five years to successfully defend a target in Centurion in T20 internationals thanks to Arshdeep's deliveries with the new ball at the end.
