Vistara last flight ahead of the merger with Air India, IndiGo bids farewell.

Summary: IndiGo bids farewell to Vistara as its last flight takes off ahead of the merger with Air India.

Vistara's last flight as a stand-alone airline was on November 11. After merging with Tata-owned Air India on November 12th, the combined Air India-Vistara company operated its first flight from Doha to Mumbai on Monday evening.

A day before its merger with Tata-owned Air India, IndiGo Flight honored Vistara by operating its final flight on Monday. Launched in 2015, Vistara Airlines ended its nine-year run on November 11.

On social media, IndiGo posted a video of Vistara's last flight prior to the merger along with the caption, “As an unforgettable legacy takes its final flight, a new journey on the horizon awaits. Goodbye, Vistara.”

Vistara commented below, saying, “Onward and upward! Here’s to the future and all the exciting possibilities it holds!”

Ground crew and employees at Odisha's Biju Patnaik International Airport become emotional as the final Vistara flight departs on Monday as the airline's demise draws closer. On social media, the footage of the crew saying their final goodbyes to the airplane went viral.

The last destination of Vistara's last flight was Delhi before its merger with Air India. The first flight of the merged Air India-Vistara airline took off from Doha for Mumbai on Monday night.

The flight "AI2286" is expected to depart Doha at around 10.07 p.m. local time and arrive in Mumbai early on Tuesday morning. It's also the first international flight for the combined organization.

On Sunday, the airline said goodbye to the final flight on its Instagram account. The post read,  “As the plane ascends, so do our dreams; let’s glide toward the future, where the sky isn’t the limit, but just the beginning.”

Singapore Airlines, which currently owns 49% of Vistara, would acquire 25.1% of Air India after the Vistara-Air India merger.

Air India has positioned additional resources, such as support desk kiosks, at touchpoints and airports to ensure a flawless experience for Vistara passengers. Air India will eventually own the ticket offices and check-in terminals at Vistara airport.
