Shubhanshu Shukla Enjoys Special Space Meal Ahead of July 14 Return
Summary: Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla shared a joyful meal with his crewmates aboard the ISS before their scheduled return on July 14.
Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, part of the Axiom-4 mission, marked a light-hearted moment in space by enjoying a special meal with his fellow crewmembers aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
The group tried a variety of dishes, including shrimp cocktails, pastries, and Indian specialties such as gajar ka halwa and moong-methi sprouts, all while floating smoothly in zero gravity.
The pictures shared by American astronaut Jonny Kim capture the team enjoying a meal, laughing, and floating in the weightless setting, giving a glimpse into the friendship developed during their journey.
This celebratory meal comes just days before their planned return to Earth on July 14. The team is set to depart in the Dragon spacecraft, with NASA confirming the date based on weather and station readiness.
Throughout the mission, the Axiom-4 team completed over 230 orbits, covered more than 6 million miles, and conducted dozens of science experiments, with Shukla leading seven India-specific projects in partnership with ISRO.
Shukla's journey, from growing sprouts in space to engaging in critical research, is a proud chapter in India's space goals. As he prepares to return, this "space feast" serves as a comforting reminder of human connection, even from 250 miles above Earth
