Sargam Koushal Wins the Mrs. World 2022 Title, Reawakening India?s Pride 21 Years Later
Sargam Koushal was crowned Mrs. World 2022 title in a ceremony held on 18 December 2022 at Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino in the United States. It is 21 years later that someone from India has won this title. Previously, India had only once pocketed this title win that too in the year 2001. Aditi Govitrikar, an actor-model, had won it.
Contesting among participants from 63 countries, Sargam Koushal burst into tears when Mrs. World 2021, Shaylyn Ford of the US honored her with the crown. Aditi Govitrikar also extended a congratulatory note to the current Mrs. World pageant.
The first runner-up is Mrs. Polynesia, seconded by Mrs. Canada. Mrs. World 2022 is Mumbai-based but hails from Jammu and Kashmir. She is also the wife of an Indian Navy Officer. Mrs. World is for married women, in pursuit of winning the beauty pageant, which first began in 1984.
In the initial period, the event was known as Mrs. Woman of the World, which later became known by its present title in 1988. America has won the greatest number of the title. But this year, the crown was for India, thanks to Sargam Koushal. She shared her happiness on Instagram.
The legend expressed her personal feelings mingled with patriotism when she relayed that the wait for India is over and that we have the crown back after 21 years. She also described that she was excited and elated about winning the title. Lastly in her official Instagram page post, Sargam also said – Love you India, Love you world.
A horde of comments congratulating the newly-crowned Koushal was seen on her official social media channel. As per Mrs. Koushal’s close acquaintance, she had worked in Vizhag as a teacher. She has completed her postgraduate degree in English Literature.
Now that is what we call the beauty with brains making India proud once again after a huge interval. But as they say that some rewards come with time. However, this reward made a grand entry that too at a prestigious moment for Mrs. World 2022 title.
