Operation “Pimple”: Indian Army Foils Infiltration Bid in J&K’s Kupwara, 2 Terrorists Eliminated
Summary: In Operation Pimple in the Keran area, the Indian Army stops an infiltration attempt; two terrorists are killed under increased vigilance.
In the latest border security action, the Indian Army thwarted an infiltration attempt in the Keran sector of the Kupwara district in Jammu & Kashmir under a mission codenamed “Operation Pimple”, successfully neutralising two terrorists.
According to the army’s Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, intelligence inputs flagged suspicious movement near the forward-defended line (FDL) in the early hours of Friday evening. The alert troops of the 21st Grenadiers challenged the movement; in the ensuing exchange of fire, the terrorists were trapped and eliminated.
Following the engagement, a large-scale search operation was undertaken in the region to ensure no insurgents managed to cross the Line of Control (LoC). The terrain is difficult, and the region's winter conditions—with precipitation on the way—make counter-infiltration activities even more urgent.
This event highlights the Indian security forces' continued vigilance near the LoC. Early discovery and rapid response in such forward locations are crucial to ensuring the region's security.
