Once Again Mumbai Braces for Heavy Rainfall as Orange Alert Sounds in Raigad and Ratnagiri

Amidst the heavy monsoon season, Mumbai and its surrounding regions (Raigad and Ratnagiri districts) are bracing for heavy rainfall forecasted by the Indian Meteorological Department and they have issued an orange signal for Mumbai, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts from Today, August 2 till Thursday, August 3. The IMD has also issued a warning about the chances of torrential rain, which can lead to gridlock, waterlogging, and floods in vulnerable locations.

Mumbai Residents must be aware that Mumbai city frequently becomes a grapple to handle the monsoon blows every year, which has also disrupted daily life and presented difficulties for municipal officials. Residents are requested to be on the lookout and follow the required safety protocols as the orange signal denotes the possibility of a serious impact.

In response to the climate forecast, disaster management agencies and civic bodies are gearing up their preparations. Emergency teams are on standby to address any contingencies. Raigad and Ratnagiri, situated along the Konkan coast, are prone to landslides and floods during heavy rainfall. The orange alert aid as a reminder for local inhabitants to be prepared as well as cautious, especially those living in low-lying and landslide-prone areas.
