Naaz Joshi Gang-raped at 10, Yet the first Indian to Win of International Transgender Beauty Queen

But few others are sidelined from society, yet, because of their undying spirit and iron will, they achieve success and become our role models. Today, we will introduce you to Naaz Joshi, the first Indian to win the title of International Transgender Beauty Queen and several other beauty pageant crowns. She also won the title of Empress Earth 2021-2022.
Naaz, born in Delhi had a boyish appearance. But her mannerisms and preferences were like that of a girl. When her family got to know she was transgender, they left her with her maternal uncle, who with his friends gang-raped Naaz at the age of 10.
Worked in Bars, Massage Parlors, and Begged on Streets
After her gang rape, Naaz was admitted to a hospital where a transgender person took care of her and helped in difficult times. But survival was never easy, and hardships were common as she worked at several places such as massage parlors, and bars. Naaz even begged on the streets. However, the harshness of life did not dim her will and efforts. She continued her studies and completed a course in fashion design.
Graduated from NIFT and Underwent Gender Change Operation
Naaz Joshi graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology. Then she also had a sex change operation in the year 2013. There was no turning back now, Naaz entered the modeling industry and made a booming career in it. She was contacted by a photographer who shot her as a transgender sex worker. On the streets of Delhi, Naaz dressed up as a woman and posed for a bold photoshoot.
Featured on a Magazine Cover and Winner of 8 Beauty Pageants
It was just the beginning of a fresh start and fame, as Naaz was featured on a magazine cover after the photoshoot. She also went on to become India’s first International Transgender Beauty Queen. Winning three times consecutively, she was honored with the Miss World Diversity Beauty Pageant title. And to date, she has won 8 beauty pageants.
