Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: AAP Out, BJP In?

Summary: Results of exit polls indicate that the AAP "to leave" Delhi, favoring the BJP.

News channels are out with the projections for Delhi’s assembly elections for 2025. A live stream of these projections will be available on YouTube and other social media sites. These polling firms are providing their exit poll forecasts: Axis My India, Today's Chanakya, P-Marq, and C-Voter.

In the Delhi 60.4% of voters cast ballots for the 70-seat assembly. The outcome of the Delhi Election 2025 will impact the fate of 699 candidates and three substantial political parties.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India (ECI), only 57.8% of eligible voters cast ballots in the most recent election, the lowest turnout since 2008. While occasional complaints of fake voting and model code violations continued throughout the day, Wednesday's 11-hour voting session was largely peaceful.

To reclaim the lost glory, the Big Three—the ruling AAP, BJP, and Congress—are engaged in a triangular contest in the nation's capital. Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won 62 seats in 2020 and 67 seats in 2015, and it has essentially controlled the last two elections.

However, the AAP government is dealing with corruption accusations related to a now-canceled liquor program. The BJP, meanwhile, wants to profit from the anti-incumbency sentiment. The Congress, which once controlled Delhi but has been marginalized over the last ten years, is also aiming to resurface.

On February 5, the election voting will end at 6 p.m., and soon afterward, attention will turn to exit poll projections before the final results are announced on February 8.
