Apple combined its interpretation of GenAI, or as they call it, Apple Intelligence, with its new iPhone 16 series, which was presented on Monday at the "It's Glowtime" event at its Cupertino headquarters, to take the competition head-to-head. The tech giant unveiled software upgrades that improve accessibility, particularly for people with hearing impairments, along with updates to its AirPods and Apple Watch.

The first series of smartphones to be directly integrated with Apple Intelligence will be the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

With improved silicon and even a hardware button that allows users to access some AI features, the iPhones are considerably more capable. 

In his keynote, CEO Tim Cook stated, "Artificial intelligence and machine learning have been critical in delivering many of the features and experiences we value today. In June, we launched Apple Intelligence, our powerful new personal intelligence system, which will have an incredible impact. We are thrilled to introduce the first iPhones designed from the ground up for Apple Intelligence and its breakthrough capabilities."

Made of "aerospace-grade aluminum," the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus have a new color-infused backglass. The color options for the devices are ultramarine, teal, pink, white, and black.

The iPhone 16 Plus features a larger 6.7-inch screen than the iPhone 16 with a 6.1-inch display. Both variants come with a maximum brightness of 2000 nits and can dim to 1 nit in poor lighting.

To facilitate quick access to functions like voice memo recording, music identification, and phrase translation, Apple has also included the Action Button in the base models. In-app features like locking or unlocking a car through the FordPass app can also be customized for it.

Leveraging second-generation 3nm technology, Apple's most recent A18 chipset powers the iPhone 16 and its Plus variant. With two performance cores and four efficiency cores, the A18 chip has a 6-core CPU.

With the new iPhone 16, you can capture more crisp 24MP images with its strong 48-megapixel main camera, which combines 48MP and 12MP images. A faster f/1.6 aperture and a 2x telephoto zoom option using the center 12MP of the sensor are also included for better low-light photography.

With support for 4K120 capture, the iPhone 16 Pro can record in cinematic quality with Dolby Vision frame-by-frame color grading.

The US prices for the iPhone 16 series are: The starting price of the iPhone 16 is $799, or approximately ₹67,000, while the iPhone 16 Plus is priced at $899, roughly ₹75,500. The starting price for the 128GB iPhone 16 Pro is $999, approximately₹83,870, while the 256GB iPhone 16 Pro Max is $1199, about₹1 lakh. 

Indian prices for the iPhone 16 series:  The iPhone 16 costs around ₹79,900 in India, while the iPhone 16 Plus will retail for ₹89,900. On the other hand, the starting price of the iPhone 16 Pro in India is ₹1,19,900. The most expensive, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, is available in India for ₹1,44900.
