Zoya Akhtar on The Archies Netflix Release: Star Kids Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda Underwent Special Training

Bollywood just got more interesting with last week’s annual Netflix event teaser release of ‘The Archies’, in Tudum, Brazil. Zoya-Akhtar directed drama is set in the 1960s. It is a teenage musical romantic film and stayed in the limelight of Bollywood news because of its star cast. The American comics-inspired drama got popular as soon as it was announced because it is the acting debut of Suhana Khan, daughter of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. Not just that, it even stars Khushi Kapoor, the daughter of late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor.

We will also see the grandson of Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan, Agastya Nanda. Other actors in prominent roles according to Bollywood News are Vedang Raina, Yuvraj Menda, Aditi Dot, and Mihir Ahuja. The Bollywood filmmaker Zoya-Akhtar talked about the extensive training that was given to the star kids for the movie. Thus, they came prepared to the sets. Also, as the comics are not of their generation, the star kids had to even read those.

Zoya-Akhtar also said that she gave them many films to watch from the 60s and that period. It also included musicals, teenage films, and movies of different tonalities. The Bollywood news also confirmed that the star kids attended dance, singing, and acting workshops, along with swimming, skating, and cycling, just about everything one can imagine to make the characters go live adequately in the film. For technical jobs and skills, they did a complete workshop with the camera as well.

She concluded to Bollywood news that the star kids went to school and were trained sufficiently to be pros right from hitting the mark and catching the light, to be in a close-up and what it means to give a shoulder, action continuity, to be in a wide shot, and whatever is the set protocol. As indicated in Bollywood news, ‘The Archies’ will release later this year on Netflix.

The movie is the fifth-full-length feature by Zoya-Akhtar as she also gave hits as per Bollywood news such as Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Gully Boy, Luck by Chance, and Dil Dhadakne Do. All of these were critically acclaimed Bollywood films and hits at the box office. Zoya has also directed shorts in Ghost Stories, Lust Stories, and Bombay Talkies.
