Todd Philips Shares a Still of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn on Instagram for the Movie Joker: Folie a Deux
On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, the director Todd Philips of the movie Joker: Folie a Deux shared a still of Lady Gaga on his Instagram as the character, Harley Quinn alongside the titular Joker movie, which starred Joaquin Phoenix, captioning the post as ‘Happy Valentines Day’. The upcoming comic book movie is waited for by fans around the world after the previous part gained a large followership, and crashed records in the Hollywood industry.
The Instagram post attracted several comments, where people expressed how excited they were for the next installment of the Joker. Fans also were overwhelmed finding Lady Gaga as an important cast and playing the lead role of Harley Quinn. The movie, Joker: Folie a Deux stars Brendan Gleeson, Jacob Lofland, Catherine Keener, along with Lady Gaga. The film may release somewhere in October 2024. Lady Gaga has also shared the same image on her social media account.
Earlier, the character Harley Quinn was portrayed by Margot Robbie, who was also in Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey. Details of the movie are yet to be revealed. However, there are rumors that Joker: Folie a Deux could be musical in nature. It is said to be a sequel to the initial release in 2019, Joker, wherein Joaquin Phoenix bagged the Best Actor Oscar. Todd Philips was also the director of the Joker in 2019. The movie also starred Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, and Frances Conroy as well.
Written by Philips and Scott Silver, Joker (2019) earned more than $1 billion worldwide and became the highest-grossing R-rated movie in Hollywood. It had 11 Oscar nominations, winning two of them, and even won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. While the movie had done well, criticism like that for the representation of mental health illness in a negative light was one of the contentions. The movie could release on 9 October 2024.
