‘Tejas’ Stumbles At The Box Office: Kangana Ranaut’s Film Faces A Significant Loss of Rs 50 Crore, Garners Only Rs 4.25 Crore
Summary: Since her 2019 film "Manikarnika," Kangana Ranaut has not experienced theatrical success, and her latest venture, "Tejas," has incurred a substantial loss exceeding Rs 50 crore.
The theatrical dry spell continues for Kangana Ranaut, with her recent release "Tejas" adding to the string of disappointments. Despite a low-key promotion and lukewarm word-of-mouth post-release, the film, backed by Ronnie Screwvala, has incurred a staggering loss surpassing Rs 50 crore, according to Bollywood Hungama.
Hitting theaters on October 27, "Tejas" managed to muster only Rs 4.25 crore during its entire theatrical run. With a production cost of Rs 70 crore, the film struggled to make a mark at the domestic box office, earning a mere Rs 70 lakh internationally. The financial setback was substantial for the producers, especially considering the sale of OTT, satellite, and music rights for Rs 17 crore. Despite distributors raking in Rs 2.23 crore from box office collections, the overall financial performance of the film fell short of expectations.
The producers have managed to recoup only Rs 19.23 crore from the film, resulting in a cumulative loss of Rs 50.77 crore.
