Jigra Special Screening: Karan Johar, Neetu Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna attend the screening
Summary: Days after declaring that there will be no press previews, Dharma Productions organized a special screening for only the film industry.
Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions earlier declared that there will be no preview screenings for the media for Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina. Day later, the production house organized a special screening for only industry friends.
Alia’s sister Shaheen Bhatt, mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor, Karan Johar, Rashmika Mandanna, Vedang Raina, and Khushi Kapoor attended the screening.
Before entering the venue, Alia posed for pictures with her sister Shaheen. The sisters looked extremely joyful. Jigra is the second project by Eternal Sunshine Productions, Alia's production house. The first one debuted on Netflix India in 2022, “Darlings.”
Alia and author-turned-entrepreneur Shaheen co-produced Jigra through Dharma Productions. Dharma Productions helped Alia break over as an actor in 2012 with Karan's Student of the Year.
Karan went to the screening with his childhood buddies. Vedang Raina was also present, wearing a unique sweatshirt that read, "Vasan Bala's fourth film." Vasan has previously directed films including "Monica O My Darling" and "Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota."
While Ranbir Kapoor missed the screening, Neetu Kapoor was seen cheering for her daughter-in-law, Alia Bhatt. Rashmika Mandanna attended the screening and posed for the cameras. Radhika Madan and Khushi Kapoor were also spotted at the screening.
What is the Jigra movie about?
Jigra will be in the theatres on October 11, 2024. It is an emotional thriller story about two siblings, Satya (Alia) and Ankur (Vedang). It revolves around Satya’s mission to rescue her brother who has been wrongfully imprisoned in connection with a narcotics case.
The movie also features Manoj Pahwa, Aditya Nanda, and Alia’s best friend, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor. Achint Thakkar wrote the film's soundtrack and Varun Grover wrote the lyrics. The two worked together on Vasan's last film, Monica O My Darling.
The film is co-written by Vasan Bala and Debashish Irengbam.
