Hina Khan’s mother weeps as the actress chops off her hair before her chemotherapy
Summary: Hina Khan trims her ‘beautiful hair’ before it starts falling off after being diagnosed with stage three cancer. She shares a video where her mother can be seen crying.
On Thursday morning, Hina Khan posted another part of her cancer experience on social media. Hina told her fans last week that she had been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. Hina posted a video of herself getting her hair chopped off in her most recent post. Hina prepares herself for this phase by sitting down in front of a mirror at the beginning of the video. Hina can be heard trying to console her mother, while her mother is heard sobbing in the background.
Hina held her mother's hand and consoled her. She said, "Mumma, please don't cry. Ro nahi." Mama, it's only hair. "Baal hain, aap nahi cut karte ho (It's hair, don't you cut it)?" Hina said, "Stop," when her mother started weeping. “Aapki tabiyat hojayegi kharab (Stop. You'll fall ill).”
Hina herself cut the first pigtail of her hair, then her friend took off the rest. After her final look, her mother entered and hugged her. Hina also kissed her cheeks. Hina smiled and remarked, "Not bad. I feel liberated."
Hina Khan wrote, "Our hair is the crown we never take off," but she also mentioned that to win some tough battles, they must make some painful decisions. "I've decided to give myself every opportunity to win this battle. I've chosen to let go of my lovely hair before it starts falling off. I did not want to go through this emotional breakdown for weeks. So I've decided to let go of my crown because I've recognized that my true crown is my courage, strength, and love for myself," she added.
Hina also revealed that she wants to make a wig for herself out of her own hair. "Hair and eyebrows will grow back, scars will fade, but the spirit must remain whole," she said.
Hina recently uploaded a video from an event where she knew she had cancer. She revealed that, after the event, she went to receive chemotherapy. Her fans and friends have been sending her well wishes via social media.
