Allu Arjun recalls being jobless; expresses gratitude to Pushpa 2 director Sukumar

Summary: Allu Arjun reminisced about his relationship with director Sukumar of Pushpa 2: The Rule at the Pushpa 2 pre-release event in Chennai.

Allu Arjun talked about how his relationship with the Pushpa 2 director Sukumar has grown over the years during the pre-event in Chennai.

It was an emotional moment where the actor shared how Sukumar gave a boost to his career in the right direction after a slump. “I made my debut as a lead actor with Raghavendra Rao Garu’s Gangotri. He delivered a superhit, but I didn’t deliver as an actor.”

After that, he was out of work for at least a year. “No one came to work with me after the release of the film. Then, a debut filmmaker came up to me and offered Arya. There has been no looking back since then.”

The two young talents started their journey almost together 20 years ago. Sukumar was the debut filmmaker, while Allu Arjun has done only one film, after which he was jobless. Together they worked for the movie “Arya.” The movie was a hit at the box office, a massive success.

The duo then delivered one superhit after another, each of which rose in popularity and scope.

They came back for Arya 2 in 2009 following Arya (2004). After working together on Pushpa in 2021, they are now reunited for Pushpa 2: The Rule. The fact that Sukumar and Allu Arjun appear to enjoy hunting together is amazing.

Allu Arjun said, “When I look back at my career, and if I have to point out the one person who had the maximum impact in my life, it would have to be Sukumar. Even now, he is busy with the post-production. His absence speaks louder than his presence. I miss you, Sukku. We are all in this together.”

The makers launch their first movie song for the first time at the event, “Kissik,” featuring Allu Arjun and Sreeleela. Rashmika Mandanna and Devi Sri Prasad were also present at the event.

The makers are certain that Pushpa 2: The Rule, made on an enormous budget of Rs 400–500 crore, will mark Allu Arjun's initial entry into the Rs 1000 crore club. The movie is regarded as one of the priciest Indian productions.

Fahadh Faasil, Ajay Ghosh, Anasuya Bhardwaj, Prathap, Brahmaji, Dhananjaya, Mime Gopi, Sunil, and others will also return in the sequel. Veteran actor Jagapathi Babu will also feature in the film.
