Sam Bahadur Battles the Box Office: Monday Blues or a Steady Rise?
Summary: Meghna Gulzar's film earned Rs 3.50 Cr on its first day of release on Monday, which is less than what Ranbir Kapoor's Animal earned on its fourth day of release.
The challenge for Sam Bahadur will be to at least maintain its pace and avoid a sharp decline in the future. The film has received mixed reviews and faces stiff competition at the box office, which could be a challenge in itself. Sam Bahadur expects an estimated total of 37 Cr at the end of the first week which is not ideal. The second weekend is critical to achieving a respectable lifetime total. Both ``Animal'' and ``Sam Bahadur'' will have a 20-day free run period before two big box office films arrive, in comedy ``Dunki'' starrer Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas' action star in Salaar.
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, this film depicts the life of India's first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw. This is Vicky Kaushal's third film release this year after the box office hit Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and the disappointing film The Great Indian Family. Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh are also a part of Sam Bahadur
