The Tuva Energy Industrial Corporation (TEIC) is undertaking the construction of a railway line between Elegest and Kyzyl in Tuva, and Kuragino in Krasnoyarsk territory with a track capacity of 15 million tonnes of goods per annum in Russia.
The project involves the construction of a 410km railroad, 127 bridges, eight tunnels, 15,910m of water-flow tubes, and 2,267m2 of earthwork, the laying of tracks, and the installation of lighting and signaling systems.
In May 2013, a quadrilateral agreement was signed between the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation, the Governments of Krasnoyarsk territory and Tuva and TEPK.
In March 2014, TEPK announced a tender for the construction of the project.
In April 2014, SGC-TransstroyYamal was awarded the contract for the construction.
On May 10, 2015, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) signed a MoU for implementation of the project.
The project is expected to be funded by the National Welfare Fund, loan, and the private investors.
In June 2017, Russian Railways and TEIC signed an cooperation agreement on the construction of the Elegest-Kyzyl-Kuragino railway line.
