Swift Current Energy (SCE) is undertaking the development of a wind farm in Logan County, Illinois, the US.

The project involves the construction of a 200MW wind farm on 3,277ha of land. It includes the construction of a substation, access roads, and foundation for wind tower, the installation of 81 wind turbines, 98m high wind towers and meteorological towers, and the laying of transmission lines.

William Kelsey has been appointed as consultant for the project.

Relight conducted a feasibility study for the project from June 2009 to May 2010.

Relight conducted environmental studies between June 2010 and July 2011. In June 2010, Relight started acquiring land parcels and completed the acquisition in October 2014.

In January 2015, the project plans were rejected by the Logan County Council and in February 2015, the plans were again rejected as there was a tie vote among the members of Logan County Council.

In June 2015, the Logan County Council Planning Commission voted to approve the planning application.

On July 2, 2015, the public hearing was held on the project and on July 21, 2015, the Logan County planning commission approved the planning application.

In late 2016, SCE acquired the rights for the development and construction of the wind farm.

General Motors(GM) has signed power purchase agreement(PPA) for 100MW with SCE.

Construction works are expected to completed by the fourth quarter of 2019.
