Red Deer College (RDC) is undertaking the construction of Gary W. Harris Center project in Alberta, Canada.

The project involves the construction of a health and wellness center. It includes the construction of classrooms, laboratories, a fitness center, an athletic training center, two ice surfaces, squash courts, a nursing center, new programming availability for students, parking and related facilities.

Partners have come together to support the funding of the Gary W. Harris Centre, including the City of Red Deer, Red Deer County, the Province of Alberta and a number of private donors.

In October 2014, RDC issued tenders for the design-build contract with November 13, 2014, as the submission date.

Stantec, HCMA Architecture + Design, Scott Builders and Clark Builders have been appointed as a design-build team.

Site preparation works were commenced in October 2015 and were completed in December 2015.

On January 20, 2016, RDC received site development approval.

In March 2016, a groundbreaking ceremony was held and on March 21, 2016, foundation works commenced.

On March 6, 2017, the structural steel works are fully completed.

Construction activities are underway and expected to complete by third quarter 2018.

The project involves the construction of a health and wellness center at G.H. Dawe Community Centre in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada.
