Manila North Harbour Port, Inc. (MNHPI) a joint venture between Harbour Centre Port Terminal Corporation (HCPTC) and ICTSI is undertaking the construction of an integrated logistics complex in the Philippines.
The project involves construction of an integrated logistics complex which is being implemented in phases.
The first phase includes the construction of a passenger terminal building, a power center, operations center, extension of pier 4, pier 10-southside, front wharf from Pier 16 to pier 14, improvement of marine slipway, pier 16 retro-fitting and reclamation of slip 15.
The second phase includes the construction of container yard and 1.7km of continuous quay length.
It also will include the construction of berth facilities, support facilities for cargo handling operations, ship-handling and warehouse facilities, a fuel depot for the storage, handling and distribution units and parking facility; and the installation of safety and security systems.
In October 2009, Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) appointed MNHPI as development contractor for 25-year on build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis.
On January 3, 2011, San Miguels oil refining unit, Petron Corp. (PCOR) signed a deal to acquire 35% stake in the Harbor Center, contracted to operate and manage the Manila North Harbor.
On September 9, 2011, the first phase of the project received planning approvals from PPA.
R-II Builders, Inc. appointed as construction contractor for passenger terminal.
On June 17, 2012, the construction works on passenger terminal commenced. In the second quarter of 2013, the construction works on the passenger terminal, which includes the passenger building, ticketing office, and parking area was completed.
Construction works on the first phase are underway and expected to complete in December 2017. MNHPI is awaiting PPA approvals for the development of second phase.
