The project involves the construction of additional office complex on a 5ha area. The project includes the construction of 180,845m2 of office blocks, a library, offices, a registry unit, a records storage facility, offices for lawyers, a waiting room, a litigants interaction facility, 1,850 parking spaces, an underground passage to connect existing Supreme Court building, new complex beneath Mathura Road and construction of related facilities.
In July 2012, the Union Cabinet of India approved the project.
In February 2013, Supreme Infrastructure India Ltd was awarded Us$49 million EPC contract.
In November 2014, 14% of the work has been completed.
In March 2016, Sterling and Wilson Pvt Ltd was awarded the mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) system contract. The scope of the contract includes installation of complete electrical, mechanical, and public health and safety systems, electrical fittings including HT and LT works, air-conditioning, fire protection, building management systems, plumbing management systems, and installation of elevators, escalators and travelators.
Construction activities are underway and estimated to complete by the fourth quarter of 2017.
