MK Fintel Wind (MKFW), jointly owned by the Fintel Energia Group and MK Group, is undertaking the construction of a wind farm in Vrsac, Serbia.
The project involves the construction of 147MW wind farm. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation, access roads, and related facilities, the installation of wind turbines, and the laying of transmission lines.
The project is being developed in two phases. Phase-I comprises of 20 turbines which can generate 69MW and Phase-II comprises of 19 turbines which can generate 78.2MW.
In October 2013, the government of Serbias Vojvodina province issued a building permit.
In July 2015, MKFW signed an agreement with a consortium formed by international partners to finance, build and operate the farm.
MKFW signed contract with Vestas for supply, transport and installation of 20, V126 turbines of 3.45 MW each for phase-I.
In June 2017, Serbian AIK Bank provided unspecified financial support for the construction of Phase-I.
In July 2017, construction works began on Phase-I and scheduled to complete in 2019.
In February 2018, MKFW secured US$100.36 loan from pool of banks consisting of Erste Bank Group, Erste Bank Serbia, Austrian Development Bank, Unicredit Bank Serbia and Zagrebacka Banka.
Construction works on phase-II are scheduled to start in 2019.
MKFW is in the process of securing funds for phase-II.
