Laidlaw Capital Group (Laidlaw), previously known as Highland Group Holdings Ltd, is constructing the Deutsche Bucht Offshore wind farm with a capacity of 252MW in North Sea, Germany.

The project involves the construction of powerhouses, an offshore substation and foundations, and the installation of wind turbines and inter-array cables.

In October 2012, Laidlaw acquired the wind farm from Windreich AG and appointed Windreich AG as developer for installation, commissioning and operation.

K2 Management A/S has been appointed as project management contractor.

MHI Vestas Offshore Wind has been appointed as turbine supply contractor.

In March 2013, Prysmian Kabel und Systeme GmbH was awarded a contract worth US$65.13 million for design, supply and installation of turn-key High Voltage Alternating Current (HVAC) submarine power cable systems.

On June 7, 2016, Van Oord Offshore BV was appointed as EPC contractor. Van Oord will execute the Balance of Plant for the project.

In August 2017, the financial closure was completed for the project.

Construction commenced in the third quarter of 2017, the installation work will commence in the second half of 2018 and will complete in 2019.
