Summary

The Norwegian National Rail Administration (Jernbaneverket) is planning to build a double track rail line between Trondheim and Stjrdal in Norway.

The project involves the construction of a double track rail line between Trondheim and Stjrdal. It will be developed in phases.

The project includes the construction of support structures, railway stations, tunnels and related infrastructure, the installation of signaling and safety systems and information boards, and the laying of railway tracks.

In 2014, the project plan was established in three affected municipalities Trondheim, Malvik, and Stjrdal.

In 2015, Jernbaneverket conducted soil surveys.

In November 2016, Jernbaneverket unveiled four alternative routes for double track between Trondheim and Stjrdal. Option A is estimated to cost around US$1,183 million, option B and C are estimated to cost US$1,491 million and US$1,255 million respectively.
