Gulf Energy Development (GED) is planning to build a biomass power plant in Chana, Songkhla, Thailand.
The project involves the construction of a 25MW biomass power plant. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation and storage tanks, parking and related facilities and the installation of transformers and generators and the laying of transmission lines.
GED awarded Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction (STECON) and Pyry has appointed to implement the engineering services.
In March 2018, the project received approvals to proceed.
On March 16, 2018, GED secured US$35 million funds from the Asian Development Bank and achieved financial closure on the project.
