The Copenhagen City Council (CCC) is undertaking the construction of a bypass in Denmark.
The project involves the construction of a four-lane 3km long road link between Nordhavn and Helsingrmotorvejen (Elsinore Highway) and 1,650m long tunnel which creates a direct link between Helsingor motorway and Nordhavn.
Out of the 1,650m tunnel, 620m will run through a 25m wide tunnel at a depth of up to 22m, which is being constructed with two rectangular tubes, each with two lanes and using the cut-and-cover method.
The project includes the construction of a pedestrian way, approaching roads and other related infrastructural facilities, and the installation of ventilation shafts, signaling, lightning systems and fire safety systems.
