Breeze Power (Pty) Ltd (BPPL), jointly owned by the Government of Lesotho and Harrison & White Contractors, is planning to undertake the construction of an onshore wind farm in Lesotho.
The project involves the construction of a 6,000MW wind farm and is planned to be implemented in multiple phases. It includes the installation of 4,000 wind turbines, generators and transformers, the construction of substations, access roads and platforms, and the laying of transmission lines.
The first phase include 150MW power plant, the second phase include 300MW power plant, and the third phase include 600MW power plant. Further phases of the project are not determined yet.

The project will be funded through a combination of debt and equity. The equity finance will be provided by Harrison & White Investments and the government of Lesotho, whereas the debt part will be secured from Chinese financial institutions. Up to 80% of the project financing will be provided by the Chinese financial institutions through loans.
